Very old "certificate of deposit"
Hi, During clearing my recently departed Grandfather's house I found several certificates of deposit dating from 1920. They are 12-year mortage ones for San Antonio Land and Irrigation Co Limited. Now, I am guessing they aren't worth much. The original investment was a total of £1500 but I'm wondering what to do with them…

Wtc and savings
As it is now if you claim WTC only the interest on savings is taken into account, under the new universal credit they are going to cap your savings and if u have over a certain amount you won't be able to claim tax credits. This is so wrong because you are actually working when you claim WTC so you should be able to save.

I'm about to buy a car with my savings, the retail price is within the limit I wanted to spend, so that's fine. The additional costs, tax and gap insurance is ok, as the money is coming out of my savings but technically I can replace that money when I sell my current car. What I'm thinking twice about is the insurance. I…
