Post Office Growth Bond
Hi, I was about to invest a fair wedge in the current Post Office Growth Bond: http://www2.postoffice.co.uk/finance/savings-investments/growth-bonds - Only to be told I have to go to the Post Office to do it (even though the website says apply over the phone...). However, when phoning the Post Office they did mention that…

Avanti Communications
Opinion of forum readers on the above co. Is it worth a punt? It is being recommended as a strong buy. However it is capitalised @ £250 million only and probably high risk. Your thoughts will be appreciated.

Best way/place to save £1000 per month?
Hi all I need to put away £1000 per month for the next 6 months at least. So far i've just been putting the £1000 each month into my e-saver account with firstdirect. Obviously not the best place for it so I want to move the lump sum I have (not massive yet, about £2k) to somewhere better and keep topping that account up…

Are financial advisors getting excessively risk averse???
Just some thoughts…. Had an initial meeting with an IFA. It was mostly to discuss fees etc, and we haven’t been fully through my circumstances yet, so what he said wasn’t ‘advice’, but I was a little surprised all the same. I have a lump of money which I will need to draw on for living expenses, but which I also want to…

iii.co.uk S&S ISA problems?
Hi Is anyone else having problems with iii.co.uk ISA, it seems ever since they changed the interface the options are far more limited. For example I wanted a quote on Berkshire Hathaway but now apparently it doesn't even exist in their database of international equities, other US companies do. It also wont let me buy…

Is it worth investing £100 - £300?
I have received a PPI repayment and using some to move, some for a holiday but I thought what could I do, if anything with between £100-£300? I know that premium bonds are pointless, gambling is pointless etc so is there anything that I can invest it in and get anything back? Probably not, but I thought I would ask?!

Uncontrolled greek default - effect on UK banks
I am seeking views from sage people on what would be the likely effect on the UK banking system of an uncontrolled greek default, which is now looking increasingly likely based on today's news of a greek referendum on whether greece should continue with the austerity measures imposed by the EU. I currently bank with Lloyds and have a Silver account which is fine for my needs but I have some inheritance money from my nan and granddad coming and I wondered if a private account would be any good. Phoenix Investments A.G. Cold calls!
I've been telehoned on several occasions by this company operating from Switzerland. They have a recommendation, seek my investment, and charge 2% fee on the capital you invest when the share is sold. Your investment goes into their Corporate Holding Account until 'profits' are realised. Has anyone had any longterm trading…
