A tracker will track a particular index, firstly do you know which index you'd like to track (or is that the question)?
Secondly with £100 a month you could invest in 2 funds which will give you some diversification.0 -
A tracker will automatically give you lots of diversification of company stocks, but normally you would try to diversify by region as well, so as not to have all your eggs in the UK basket. This is easy to do with some combination of American, European, Pacific, Japan and Emerging Markets trackers, according to taste. Depending on your risk tolerance and time horizon, you might want to diversify by asset class as well (have some bonds as well as equities, say).
