Could somone advise me if I would be better off putting some of my shares, ETF's or some of my unit trusts into the new tax years ISA. I am a 54 year old male, do not pay HR tax and do not need to touch the money for 5 years or more. Thanks.

2009 value of 2005 £1000
I gave my granddaughter a 21st gift of £1000 in January 2005. Her sister is 21 this weekend and want to make sure that she gets the equivalent value. How much extra to the £1000 would I have to give her - if any? Joan22

will investment companies now move the goalposts
Is it the case that Investments companies will now work very hard to drive our investments back up to worthwhile levels. I have an uncomfortable feeling they may be considering ways of closing our ISAs or whatever at their present low rates so that they need not strive to breath life into our diminished investments.

TD Waterhouse site-slow...?
Any other users noticed this? I think the server/feed needs upgrading. The site seems to have slowed of late and is glitchy and problematic. also it sometimes logs me out. Not good for efficient and timely trading. I've emailed them.

Investec - Is it safe
I'm thinking of opening a high5 account but a little concerned about its safety. I know its covered by the UK government scheme but there's the no interest period whilst a claim is made that negates any gains made over my present 2% rate. Any thoughts?
