Halifax web saver
The rates has dropped from 7% to 6.5% for the 3 months fixed. Do you think the rate will continue to fall? I would assume that the initial 0.5% is just an immediate fall and they may reduce the rates o sub 6% very soon. What do you think? I have missed the 7% but wondering if I should go for the 6.5% now...... opinions!?

Index trackers and dividends
How do you find out when researching, whether Index trackers reinvest dividends or even if they include dividends at all? I realise with managed funds you can go with the INC or ACC option, but what's the position with Index trackers? Obviously dividends are a very important contributor to growth, so any clarification…

£50k with Northern Rock 6.9% - ends Jan, move now?
I have £50,000 saved in a Northern Rock account. It is the 6.9% fixed rate access bond (issue 1) which permits withdrawls (or account closure) without any penalty. The rate ends on January 19th, and I am starting to wonder whether there will be any decent rates around then. I am considering withdrawing the lot, and moving…

Still not received Icesave mail and followed advice on FCSC site
Hello, has anyone else still not received their mail? I have followed the advice on the website and still not received anything. Tried countless times to contact them on the 0845 number on my mobile and it cuts off after the message about sending a blank mail. Getting pretty stressed with it all. Steve

Wanting to save, but I'm not allowed too!
I know someone who is on Income Support and DLA . (They have an illness which makes it impossible to work.) Am I correct in saying that they can only have £6000 in the bank or is there someway around this ? This problem is causing concern as they are worrying what the outcome will be when they are of pension age?

The Second Icesave Email Thread
I thought it would be a good idea for people to post when they receive their long awaited second email from Icesave, including the first letter of their surname, length account held for, email address first letter, when they received the first email, etc (to try to see if there is any kind of order, or if it's random).…

What is a British Bank?
UK savers have been told by the Government that their savings are safe in British banks, but what does the Government see as a ‘British Bank’? Is ING Direct seen as British? It would seem that it is actually a Dutch bank, part of the ING Group, which is part of the KFS which describes itself as a UK Bank, UK authorised and…
