Advice on saving for children (not mine)?
I have a brother who is very much younger than me, he was 13 recently. For a long time I have been thinking about putting money aside for him so that he can have the same opportunities that I did (eg. help towards university if he wants it, which I don't think my parents could fund, or if not then help towards whatever he…

How is interest calculated on savings accounts?
Hi Guys, I wondered if anyone can help me with recommendations for savings accs for what I need. We have an overdraft of £700  and i would like to reduce this to £100. Problem is we are saving for a house as FTB and our goal is £5000 in 6 months. Do we keep overdraft as it is and save like mad for a house or try and pay overdraft off before saving and extend our saving time another 3months or so? Sarah

Avoid Allience & Leicester eSaver account
I applied to open an eSaver account with Allience & Leicester back in March and just can't get them to process the application. I've spent a long time on the phone to their helpdesk (not a freephone service), and they won't even put you through to the relevant dept (as they are too busy processing applications), suggesting…
