NS&I Childrens Bonus Bonds

I have 2 children aged 18 and 15 (16 in 5 weeks) who both have childrens bonus bonds that they have held for 15 years.

They are just coming up for their 5 year anniversary and I was thinking of cashing them in and putting them into a different savings account as the rate of interest doesn't seem that good.

The 18 year old starts university in September and the 15 year old will be starting college so both will be non tax-payers.

The amounts are not a fortune, they each have just under £500.

Any suggestions of what the best way to invest this money for a while longer would be? The 18 year old would prefer some sort of access to it if needed though intends to try and not touch it
