Sorry to ask a old question
but...do you send the template letters to your local branch or is there a specific department to send letters to? It's Barclays if that makes a difference. Apologies again and your patience with a n00b is appreciated :D

Current court claim not even acknowledged by bank
I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has had this experience. Basically, we issued proceedings against Barclays. Yesterday was the 14 day deadline for the bank to acknowledge the claim. The court confirmed yesterday they still had not done so so I whacked in an application for judgement in default today (online). We…

stalling!
 Hi, not a very good start eh! I am so angry with my bank at the moment, they are really taking the micky. Months ago I requested the six years worth of statements, the bank willingly took £10 from the account and sent me nothing! Second attempt more recently, they took £5 from the account and still nothing. I know…

First time small claim is it worth it?
I recently had a charge applied to my account because I went over my overdraft by £4 sheerly by accident. The charge that was made was for £38 which seems a little large and unfair considering. I'm currently a student and can't really afford to pay anything like this unecessarily. I contacted the bank (natwest) and…

List with bank charges and not statement - is this legal?
Hi, After sending a letter (May 2007 & July 2007) requesting bank statements - received a cover letter and a list of charges! Am I writing in saying, I should have received 'bank statements' and not a typed/printed list which states dates of charges and amount? Only, I do not trust the bank to reveal all - I have noticed…

Applying for judgement but still waiting for partial refund
Hi, A few days back (mainly in a panic over the recent news) i returned the Offer of Settlement letter accepting it. Now checking MCOL it appears i can now file a judgement against them. THe problem is that as yet the bank haven't actually paid any money into my account so do i still claim the FULL amount or just for the…

I have filed a claim against Barclays through MCOL, they had until midnight last night to acknowledge the claim. Unfortunately the site has been down for about 24 hours so it has not been possible to…

I havent got my charges back but i did get...
A modest overdraft out of natwest today  i just happened to be logged onto my account, and in a moment of boredom thought i would just reafirm my low opinion of the natwest and did the online application, Ive done this many times over the last few years and they have refused me everytime, even for a measily 50 quid,…

From Now until after the OFT test case
When all is said and done, probably not alot will change until after the test case has been concluded. We can make a difference now by looking at the way each bank dealt with the whole issue of the reclaims. I dealt with two, and won offers throught FSO from both. However, the Northern Rock were much easier to deal with…

Can we still claim?
I am in the unenviable position that I was about to reclaim (or attempt to reclaim) my charges from Barclays. With everything that's happened in the past few days, I was just wondering if people would advise going throguh with it or if it is now simply a waste of time. Sorry if this is the same as many others have asked…

Lloyds bank Theives
I have went through the process of re claiming my bank charges to a total of £3200. Lloyds bank sent me an offer 4 months later for £750. Because I really need the money I accepted the offer. I asked the bank if I could have the refund by cheque. I was told by the call centre that this could be done but they'd need to put…

Does the OFT rulling effect new claims for Debit Card Fees?
I'll try to explain as best as I can. I paid for several items on my Visa Delta Debit Card. There were not sufficient funds in my account, but the payments in the shops were accepted anyway. As this was for christmas shopping, there were a lot of transactions in this day. The bank charged me £25 PER TRANSACTION. So, the…

The 6 year rule
Does the 6 years count from when you put your claim in writing to the bank or from the court date? If this is not resolved for a year will I miss out on the first year reclaim?
