Artificial grass - thoughts?
Ok people, I know this isn't really going to be very moneysaving, but maybe long-term? As some of you may know, I have 2 large dogs. My garden is patio with what used to be the lawn laid to gravel, and 2 large raised ponds. This has now become a racetrack, most of the gravel has gone and there is an area that was compacted…

I am ringing the vets when they open but just wanted some reassurance really. We got our kitten Gizmo neutered on Thursday, when he came home the right side looked bloody but thought it was probably nothing to worry about. Last night i noticed that it looks like it has opened and some tissue is popping out. He hasn't been…

Dogs on settees?
I will admit to being a mean and horrible person who doesn't allow my dog on my settee. The settee is mainly for visitors who don't want covering in dog hair, and I can't be doing with faffing around with throws. In theory, the only time mutt came on my chair was when I was already on it, when she'd sit on the footstool…

Cat - finger on head!
As far as we can see from our 12 year old moggie the worst possible thjing we can do to her is put a finger on her head. We noticed this when she was small and have avoided doing it ever since. The reaction if the finger is extended and slowly brought to the centre of her head is hysterical. Her head shrinks into her…

Anorexic cat
I don't need medical advice as she is under the vet, just looking for ideas of food to tempt her. Luckily she is overweight so although she is losing weight, she has several KG to lose! She had some loose teeth which caused her to stop eating for a few days and then developed a fatty liver. The teeth were removed and have…

Rolling in poo....
We are shortly to adopt a Rottie from our local sanctuary, and unfortunately we have discovered, whilst walking him, that like my previous dog (a hoofing big Black Lab) he has an overwhelming desire to roll in fox poo! Now I don't have a weak stomach, but that makes even me wretch! I'd heard (don't laugh!) that if you…

Cats kept in at night?
I have had cats my whole life, in the days before we had a catflap our cats were always kicked out at night and let in for breakfast. For the last 14 years I have had cats of my own. I have Zak who is around 17, i have had him for 14 years. Going out has never been a problem, he is a lazy so and so and sleeps on my bed all…

cat has fleas!
Our at seems to have fleas. My wife saw a flea jumping around on the bed today and caught it and put it in a jar. We havent seen any others, but we have actually noticed recently our cat leaves a lot of dark speckles where he's been lying which I believe could be flea droppings. How do we make sure we get rid of the fleas…

Dog Walking.........
Just a practical question really, What footwear do you wear when out walking your dog/dogs? If I'm walking ours in the woods I tend to wear my wellies, but I've almost gone through my second pair in 18 months, so I'm now thinking of getting some Hunter wellies for durability. Would anyone recommend these or have an…

Indoor rabbit burrowing his litter.
So Bunny is just the greatest bunny ever but he's recently developed a habit that is slightly irritating and just wondered what everyone's thoughts were. He is fully litter trained, using the litter for wees and the majority of his poos (the odd one escapes when he's bounding about). He has lots of entertainment (he adores…
