Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can use to help clean/disinfect my back yard?
Needs to be dog friendly (naturally) and maybe also a bit moneysaving?:money:

Mistral disinfectant is quite a popular one for pet owners, they do a specific pet one in various scents. A bit of a cost initally, especially with postage, but you do dilute it a fair bit.
A more moneysaving product..white vinegar! You can buy 5l bottles from food wholesalers, Asian supermarkets, etc. for a few quid. I mix with water, bicarb and a touch of washing up liquid to clean the floors in my house and it doesn't irritate the dogs' paws. I'd say its fine to use on patios/concrete, but it may kill or affect grass or plants if that's an issue (vinegar can be used as a natural weedkiller too)0 -
I appreciate its personal preference, but can anyone give me an idea of what the various mistral scents are like and which ones you prefer?
Some of them seem quite bizzarre - tuttifrutti, bubblegum etc!

I use BioPhen - http://biolinklimited.co.uk/disinfectants.html - very economical and specially for animals (so safe)0

I use Mistral to clean my carpets and it's not to expensive to use, at the moment I'm using the lemon one and it's quite a nice smell, they used to do a cinnamon and apple ( I think ) one which was fantastic but that was only a christmas one and they don't do it any more
. I buy it from ebay and I get 4 at a time, that should I hope do me a year. 0 -

We got a mixed box of scents to try out at the kennels. The overall winner was the lavender - voted by all the staff.
I use that one myself at home - though I would have liked to try the cinnammon one they did one Christmas.

I forgot the Lavender one, that's nice as well, I also make up a solution in a spray bottle and spray the couches, the dog beds, our bed and the curtains.0

Sometimes use Zoflora in one of them pump sprays.
Though I prefer things like Anigene HLD4V.
Jayes Fluid is ok, but it can smell a bit like a kennel.0 -
Jeyes fluid isn't particular animal-friendly I don't think - especially risky for cats. I remember a container of it leaking in a storeroom at an old job of mine and it was horrendous to breathe in!
Just thought of another MSE option - biological washing powder. A cheap one would probably work fine, diluted and rinsed down, but should be OK for animals once dry since you'd use it on their bedding etc. too.0 -

The white vinegar option is a good one being environmentally friendly.
You could use lemon juice instead of vinegar in smaller quantities if you preferred.0
