Thoughts/Experiences needed please
Hi To cut a long story short. Someone tried to break into my house yesterday. They kicked in the back gate and tried to get the locks off the patio doors using bolt cutters. Luckily I was in (work nights, was in bed. Woke up as the dog was kicking off).....they ran off. They damaged the lock, but it is still usable. I am…

how long did it take you to get over your dogs passing?
I lost one of my dogs in July and the other in september, both had cancer and it was the best thing for them to put them to sleep. I really miss them and the walks we had, problem is i cannot find it in my heart to get another dog! I doggy sat my neighbours dog the other week and I did not enjoy it one bit - the walk made…

When is the right time to get a pet?
Hi  Don't know if there's already a thread regarding this topic, so please redirect me if so! I'm looking for some advice/opinions about when is regarded as the best/a suitable time to get a pet- my partner works offshore for 8weeks at a time and it would be really nice to have some furry company at home! I'd…

Can you keep guinea pigs inside?
As the title suggests ... I've wanted guinea pigs since we moved into our current home, but have always thought of them as outside pets. But are they able to live inside? We get cats in our garden, and the piggy I had as a child was scared to death by a cat, so keeping them outside wouldn't be an option :(

Bet that got your attention. The problem I have is my neighbour's dog (young Jack Russell) is coming in to our property and chasing the hens. It has already killed one just before Christmas and yesterday it was back again and left one in a state of shock (will find out shortly if she is OK). Short of shooting the damned…

Cost of cat pts
Sadly I have to take my cat to the vet for pts...he has been ill for a little while but not actually seeming to suffer. His wee is so strong smelling it will make your eyes water. He also pees like a horse! I mean GALLONS of it at a time - so he must be getting…

Young cat left outside.
I am looking for advice regarding a cat a few months old. My neighbours had this kitten just before Christmas, they are never in and go away for days. They are obviously not feeding the thing. It was locked in their house over christmas for 4 days, no one in the house and the cat was just sitting by the window. It is now…

Dog and imminent new baby advice
Hi all, I am 25 weeks pregnant and have a much loved rescue dog that we've had for almost 5 years, in the time we have had him he hasn't been around children; it has taken a long time to get our lovely boy to settle as he was most likely mistreated before we got him, he is well behaved in the home but is a very barky dog…

What do you think of someone who straps a dog to a roof carrier?
It is looking like Mitt Romney might be the main contender to Obama in the Presidential race. However, as usual the media digs up the dirt. This one is almost straight out of National lampoon's vacation. Romney evidently strapped the family dog, Seamus to a carrier of a Chevy station wagon. It's not that Romney strapped…

Be careful before burying your hamster
So i was just thinking back... I had a hamster when I was a kid. One morning I went down to see my hamster and to my surprise it was dead. I was devastated and my dad did the proper thing and went into the back garden to dig a burial hole for him. Crying, I carried out my hamster and was just about to place him in the…

Inhibated Bank Account Query
After seperating from my husband last year I asked my bank for their help with regards our joint account because I found out that my husband was taking large amounts of money from the account.
