Bonus and pension rules
I earned a bonus of £770.00 for the last quarter of 2020. I was expecting this to be paid in full in this month's salary. My employer have told me that due to the pension rules they can only pay the bonus in 3 payments - January February and March. Is this correct as they have not provided me with any proof? Thanks

Learn something new every day.....
Morning all Today's lesson: putting the 'fun' into fund transfers :D With a countdown clock on the dashboard (with only 2 digits, hurrah!), & with a chunk of our future 'income' coming from a DC pot, my thoughts turn to the detail of future drawdowns. My original plan was to move a chunk (around 15% of the funds) to a…

LTA Query when receiving both DB and DC pensions ?
hi, how is the LTA impact calculated when you receive both DB pension and DC pension ? I was originally told that the DB LTA is 20 times the initial db pension, plus the lump sum ? is this correct ? or does it change year on year as the annual DB pension rises with inflation , or is it set in stone what % of the LTA that…

Finding old pensions
Sorry, I'm sure this will have been asked a gazillion times before ... how do I best track down an old Pension. You'd think you'd be able to put your NI number in somewhere and it tells you all the pension schemes connected to it.... The company no longer exists but hopefully it's pensions would have been through a Pension…

Equity release
I dont think its something that I am interested in, but a large proportion of my wealth is and will be in my home.I can see myself using my home to generate money and company, by getting another lodger, not selling the house. But I do get letters regularily from 'Age Partnership'. They may know my circumstances. Perhaps…

Small Pension pot
Hi all, I'm 62, semi retired teacher; I have a small pension pot from an old Comet pension. It's worth £3800 at the moment, I have only used £9700 of my 2020 tax allowance (£13807) and I am unlikely to earn any more before April. So my question is: should I cash this in to hopefully take advantage of my unused tax…

Critique my IT SIPP Please
Intend on drawing £18,000 pension from this crystallised SIPP in the next couple of years. Dividends amount to over £24.000 so the drawdown is covered. Theoretically I could use accumulated cash to buy another IT to boost the incone so if anyone can suggest something that complements these that would be great. Lindsell…

The LTA in Practice
Hi I’m interested in how the LTA works in practice. I intend to retire at 60, three years from now, when I will have a SIPP that will total somewhere around 800k. I also intend to take a DB pension at this time which, I estimate, will be worth more than 500k, so I’m over the LTA. My current plan is to take 25% tax free…

Self-employed pension
I have been tying myself in knots on this one, but I suspect you clever people might take one minute to clarify something I will otherwise spend hours trying to work out. I am a higher rate earner, happily maxing out my workplace pension with voluntary contributions. My wife is self-employed and will probably earn a little…
