Help wool rug in washing machine
As per title - a kind friend put my wool ikea rug through the wash while staying in my house. I have no idea why, except that it can get quite grubby looking if not hoovered regularly. Gluten free?
For medical reasons I have to go gluten and dairy free. I home cook from scratch so it's not a huge change but I'm struggling with stuff like staples I would have in - I have switched my stock cubes to knorr as they are gluten free but I'm struggling with other things and I refuse to buy 'special' gluten free stuff for 3x…

Wax paper
A long while ago I was given a lot of wax paper when a family member closed down a food shop. My stock has finally run out and have been looking around for some to buy. It seems that it has largely become a novely/craft item from what I can make out and perhaps seen as a bit old fashioned - well, I like old fashioned and…

soup maker
I like to take soup to work for my lunch, but as tinned soup may not be the best, I'm considering making my own. So is it worth investing in a soup maker to do it all for me or is a saucepan and a stick blender just as good?

Weekly Flylady Thread 4th September 2017
What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole task easier and quicker. We also…

Grubby glass roasting dish
How can I clean my glass roasting dish? I always soak it after using but it's getting greasy spots on it. I've tried soaking, using a cream cleaner, salt, good old scrubbing but I can't seem to shift it. Any ideas?
