I have another one cooling in the garage and made another last night. I followed the instructions on the box but then wrapped my warm fermentation bin up in towels like I did last time when the…

Home made yogurt question
I'm currently doing slimming world and don't want to wreck the progress I have made. Yogurt is a free food but only if it is fat free. I make my own yogurt using UHT skimmed milk and fat free yogurt but today in a fit of stupidity bought Yeo valley light and mild, which has 3.1g of fat per 100g. If I use it with skimmed…

Food mixer recommendations, anyone..?
I have always used a Kenwood Chef in the past, sticking with these even to the point of buying second hand and reconditioned models. However I now fancy buying a new machine but am not prepared to shell out the £150+ this involves. Can anyone recommend another make/model, based on satisfactory performance at first hand,…

Best way to clean copper?
I bought a lovely copper bowl from a charity shop for £1.50 and it really needs cleaning. Does anyone have a method they use which works, and doesn't involve buying special cleaners? I've heard of using half a lemon and salt but wouldn't that scratch it? Thanks.

Richard Bertinet's sweet pastry
My normal pastry recipe is the one Delia Smith recommends. Yesterday, however, I thought I'd like to experiment and make a much richer dough and decided to use French Chef Richard Bertinet's recipe. It's as follows: Ingredients 350g/12oz plain flour pinch salt 125g/4½oz unsalted butter, flattened out in between two sheets…
