Briquettes from coal dust?
Does anyone know how I can recycle coal dust into briquettes for my open fire? I found an intriguing piece of information on the net that referred to mixing it with old tea leaves and using two flower pots, but no more info than that. I assume the mixture has to be damp and that you stick some in one pot and then put a…

Defrosting HM cakes?
Just a quick question :) My mum wants to know, when defrosting HM cakes (in this case a Medeira) do you leave them in their wrappers, or is it better to remove them first? We weren't sure whether they would go too soggy/dry depending on what was done :)

How do I clean pan after boiling (and burning) sweetcorn in it?
Hi :) I boiled some sweetcorn in a nonstick pan but forgot it on :o and it burned badly. I've unstuck the sweetcorn now but the pan still has remnants on the bottom and I can't seem to get these off. I'm reluctant to go on it with a metal scourer as it is a non-stick surface so any ideas OS peeps? :o

I bought a goose on Saturday from Lidl.... lovely it was too..... I've taken off the meat we didn't eat and frozen that for other meals. Orange Pomanders
I bought some nice oranges in Sainsbury yesterday for about 60p and thought I'd use them to make pomanders for Christmas (and for scenting some clothes cupboards) since I've already got plenty of cloves. Calling people on diets
Which would you say is the cheapest diet to follow? Really fancied low carb (not Atkins) but its all meat/poultry/fish and I think it would be really quite expensive. Just wondering if anyone has tried WW/SW/RC and could say which one seems to be the cheapest to follow?? Thanks Jx

Anyone got a 'Recipe' for Hair Conditioner?
I'd really like to make my own hair conditioner but it would seem all the recipes I can find are for conditioners that need leaving on for half an hour or overnight etc. I'd really like one that can just be left on for a couple of mins (like the shop bought stuff can) and then rinsed off - I'm always in a rush in a morning…
