Removing hair dye from white bedding?

My Step-daughter (15) has dyed her egyptian cotton sheets dark brown with semi-permanent colour.
Any idea how to get the stains out? Can I bleach?

Thanks

Should be able to if they're cotton. Probably safer to use a laundry bleach such as Ace.

Once they're clean, perhaps you should get her some cheap sheets from Argos or somewhere, preferably dark brown or black? If she's not prepared to look after good stuff, then perhaps she shouldn't be given it?
  • Hi

How about covering the stain with some shampoo first and washing to see if this will remove the stain.

    Hope it comes out.

  • if you spray it with hairspray before you wash it or do anything at all to it, it should wash straight out. It won't work if you have put anything else on it though.

My sentiments exactly (her sheets are nicer than mine!). She's her Dads little angel at the mo and can do no wrong Grrrr...don't get me started.

Oh dear. I would suggest making her clean them herself, but knowing teenagers, she probably wouldn't do it anyway!

(Maybe you could just replace the sheets with cheap ones and say nothing?)
