can anyone please tell me if its possible to make up gingerbread dough in advance and freeze it or if i could indeed cook the gingerbread men and freeze them....... ive looked online but all recipes just say to make and eat will last a few days but nothing about freezing.

I hope you can freeze the dough as have just made some and about to put in the freezer. I am sure I have read somewhere that both the dough and the men can be frozen0

thanks will give it a go. my little girl has decided that not only do we want gingerbread men for the christmas tree she also wants them for all her friends (20 of them) to put in thier goodie bags lol kids hey lolPain is temporary!! quitting is permanent0

Yes! You can definately freeze gingerbread dough, at least the scandinavian kind, or the one that can be bought ready made from Ikea. I've done this before, and my mum has done it for years, so you should be ok.0

INGREDIENTS
100g butter
3tbsp golden syrup
350g self raising flour
1-2tsp ground ginger
100g castor sugar
1 egg beaten
icing and smarties to decorate
cost = approx 8p each (£1.90 for 24)
PREPARATION
1. preheat oven to 180c/350f/gas4
2. melt the butter and syrup together in a saucepan over a gentle heat.
3. place flour ,ginger and sugar ina mixing bowl. add the melted butter/syrup mixture stir slightly then add the egg.
4. knead until smooth and leave for 15 minutes to cool.
5. roll out to thickness of 6mm and cut out gingerbread men
6.place on a lightly greased baking sheet and cook in centre of oven for about 8mins or until golden. remove and leave to cool.
7.decorate in own way............................. eat yum yum lolPain is temporary!! quitting is permanent0
