Collar and cuff grime
Despite following various hints and using enough chemicals to run an ICI factory, I have always had problems with collar and cuff grime on my shirts. I work in central London near a main road. Most things in the office if uncleaned eventually get coated in a fine dusting of soot. My collars and cuffs, at the end of the day…

Making curtains
Here's my latest money-saving exploit: making new curtains for the dining room. We've just had the old window changed for French doors, so new curtains were necessary. I went down to the Reading Fabric Warehouse, which had some really nice fabric at a reduced price. Even better, they had a special offer of free lining and…

Whiffy floor - yuk
I know someone on here will know what to do. My friend has just moved into her new house, but the previous owner's aim cannot have been too good, as having lifted the carpet in the loo (which we thought was causing the 'smell'), it transpires that several years of bad aiming have left the wooden floor underneath smelly…

Old Style Meat
I was just wondering where those of you who buy traditionally reared meat get it from – I don’t want to get it from Tesco etc, as I don’t really trust their labels.
