Erm... what's alien gloop? Fruit juice type drink? First port of call would be a low temp wash with Ariel bio... check carefully to see if the stain is all gone before drying because you'd risk setting it in. Vanish and oxyclean might be next up... but it really depends on what the stuff isHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Try squirting the stain with essential oil of orange (Mr. M****** do one) and leave it to soak in before washing."This site is addictive!"

What about doing what you do with chewing gum - put it in the freezer overnight and then see if it will come off easier? I don't know that it would work, but it's got to be worth a try.

I have alien gloop on my ceiling - don't ask - and it won't come off either. Any suggestions?

My daughters latest craze is those flippin aliens in goo. She got some in her bedroom carpet and it has gone solid. I've tried soaking it to soften it, even peeling it off but it's stuck fast.
It is about the size of a £2 coin which is bad enough but when I was cleaning under the tv unit in the living room, there is a massive one under there too (i daren't tell their dad)
Can anyone suggest something, anything, that may get this god awful stuff off?0 -
Do you still have the packaging to see what it's made of?
Although I've had a very quick Google, I can't find anything: if you know what's in it, stains should be easier to tackle. Is there a way of soaking with water and keeping it damp for some time to rehydrate so it scrapes off?? That's assuming that it's water soluble, of course, which is why you need the packaging so you can find the right solvent or contact the company or find their website.
Good luck with that.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

no we don't have the packaging, i've soaked it with water but apart from making the very edges a bit softer it has no effect, problem is when it's pulled at it's bring the fibres from the carpet with it, it's like super glue
I'm not really too bothered about if it leaves a stain it's just that it's a horrible solid mass on the carpet. Worst luck that it's dark too0 -
I've left a message at the end of my post on the Flylady thread. I bet someone there will know....:D‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
