Speeding
I know it's bad and many of you will have little sympathy, I've been driving for a few years and have never been caught speeding. I was doing 41MPH in a 30-Zone. The letter notifying of indented prosecution says £100, however people are saying I'll get charged 100% of my weekly earnings under new rulings. Is this true? I…

Zafira B Anti Hijack Locking
I am trying to get my Zafira B (2010) to autolock the doors after driving at more than 5mph (anti-hijack) but local dealer in Broadstairs said it is not possible. Searching net it says it can be done with Opcom software but how do I find a garage with software that can enable it.

Issue/Case
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum but I've found that there is a bunch of really helpful people. I own a Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDI BlueMotion DSG 5dr and made about 52445 miles so far. I'm the second owner and I've never had trouble with this car before. Let's cut to the case. For the past few weeks, I've experienced some…

I am posting on here on behalf of my mum, who has now been without her car since being booked into a Vauxhall franchise on 4th Sept. Dash Cam Recommendations
As the title really - I'm after a dashcam recommendation! I think that a front / back facing one would be a good idea (although I'm willing to be told otherwise!) and whilst I'm happy to pay for a good one, I can't afford silly money for it. I had thought of the Nextbase Duo but the reviews seemed to be mixed. TIA

First MOT
My car will be 3 years old on 4th December and therefore due its first MOT. If I get it MOT'd a couple of weeks early is it the same principal as having an existing MOT, i.e. preserving the expiry date of the existing MOT and it would therefore be MOT'd to 4/12/2018? Thanks

I bought a used WAV (Wheelchair accessible vehicle) in May this year for £10,600.00 from a dealer in Amersham. In July it developed a fault - gears not changing (its an automatic) and engine stalling. The dealer asked me to take it to my local Fiat garage for repair under warranty, Im in Somerset so it couldn't go back to…

How much off list price?
I have my eyes on a couple of Cars. Nothing fancy, but all are in and around £16-20k at the dealers. All are cars that were launched in 2017 so they are all quite new. I am guessing it is a "how long is apiece of string" kind of question, but if you dont ask and all that.

Hi all Forgive me if this has been done to death, but reading through the forum I couldn’t find the answer. We’re really keen on buying a 2 year old Ford C-Max ecoboost. Found the ideal one, but only just discovered all the problems people have raised about the clutch issues on this engine type. Does anyone how serious an…

taken to the cleaners a while back...
not sure where to start so here goes nothing. A few years ago I purchased a vehicle online from a trader, it was a used but very low mileage one owner car. The trader offered to have it shipped to me instead of me coming down and viewing the car to which I agreed. It arrived a few weeks later well past midnight in the…

Strange electrical thing going on with my Ford Focus
Hi, I have a 2010 Ford Focus Titanium which has been playing up recently. About 3 weeks ago, my dash no longer displayed the temperature and an illuminated red star appeared on the dashboard to advise of risk of ice (it was over 18 degrees!). I was also hearing the alarm siren two or three times a day and it would sound…

Excess contract mileage: Anyone successfully negotiated?
Hi all, I took out a 4-year personal contract hire in Sept 2013 based on 10k miles per annum (accurate at the time). A few months later I was offered a new job, with a longer commute and MUCH more business mileage (around 30k a year). I called my finance company (Volvo Car Leasing, one of Lex's trading names) and asked to…
