Issue/Case

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum but I've found that there is a bunch of really helpful people.

I own a Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDI BlueMotion DSG 5dr and made about 52445 miles so far. I'm the second owner and I've never had trouble with this car before.

Let's cut to the case. For the past few weeks, I've experienced some clunking. Strange noise coming from somewhere where the gearbox is.

It's impossible to say exactly what it sounds like but it definitely sounds different. I can tell my beauty is in trouble. I could also describe it as some sort of humming, buzzing or whining noise.

I hope it's just tear and wear, and cars do change the sound over time, so I hope it's that.

Could someone suggest anything, perhaps there is anyone who had the same issue?

If a DSG gearbox is starting to make strange noises/clunking take it to a VW dealer and get it diagnosed ASAP, to keep driving may be causing more damage and that equals more expense, you will not get any answers from forums it needs an expert to view it
