Windscreen wipers don't return to zero.
How do you fix windsreen wipers that don't automatically return to the bottom of the windscreen? They just stop wherever they are on the screen when you switch them off. To get them to the bottom you have to flick the switch on and off until they get there. VW Polo W reg

Admiral annoyances
They keep sending me almost monthly junk mail about buying multicar insurance, which claims my insurance is due for renewal (it isn't), in envelopes marked "important documents enclosed". Yet, for some reason, they will not post you insurance documents etc.

Seizing vehicles
A good few years ago I remember one of the in house engineers suggesting a claim for a stolen Mercedes was rejected because the security on them were now so good that the only way to steal one was with the key/fob or by hoisting it onto a low loader and with where the car was there was no way a low loader could have gotten…

Car buying scams?
I've advertised my car on ebay as a classified. It's a decent car, only a few years old, and I had a call from a guy this morning around 200 miles away. He runs a small used car outfit and apparently a customer of theirs is after a car like mine after losing out on one similar just recently. He made me a decent offer and I…

How to avoid unexpected car hire 'damage' charges
We've had a previous bad experience with Europecar and now are a bit paranoid about getting staff to check the car before and after use. However, this doesn't seem to be the norm and no other customers we seen asked anyone to check. When we did ask, on another occasion, the staff clearly thought we were a bit odd! I'm also…

MOT and Service Groupon vouchers
Just wondering if anyone has actually bought and used a Groupon voucher deal for MOT and servicing. Some really good offers on our local groupon site, but some folk are saying they will rip you off, charging you for extra stuff that doesn't really need done.
