ABS sensor
Hi, My Mini needs a new front abs sensor. To have a genuine mini one fitted will cost £150 + vat. If I get it fitted at an independent garage with a generic sensor it will be about half that amount. I'm not able to fit it myself. Do you think it would be a false economy to use the cheaper one? Thanks.

IAM Skill for Life

Firstly I'd like to know whether it's worth it. I enjoy driving, haven't had an accident (touch wood) in the 8 years I've been driving, and I thought it would be…

Is it worth getting another car?
I really like my car - but it's an R reg with a 1.6 engine and costs £215 a year in road tax. Even though it's low mileage (50,000) I know I won't get much for it if I sold it. The way I see it, reasons for keeping it are: good runner, it's good nick and I know the service history, has so far passed MOT's since I've had (3…

They told me it was the slave cylinder in the gearbox and it will be £150 plus an extra £70 if a new clutch is needed. Yesterday they rang me and told me all was done for a total of £240 with a new…

New V5C registration certificate for car
Any idea why DVLA should send me a new one of these for no reason. I bought my car years ago. The document seems to be almost identical to the old except the new one has a more reddish rather than blue front. Now a new driving licence would be useful.
