Car insurance banned driver- pls help
Car Insurance Help - Driving Ban Insurance
I received a driving ban last year for receiving more than 12 points on my license.
Yes it was highly stupid and I deeply regret the offences that led to this. (before anyone asks none were for drink driving/driving without insurance).
I would like to move past this incident now and have been trying to rebuild my confidence on the road and rarely drive, so I would prefer to avoid unhelpful comments about my ban etc - my questions centres around car insurance
I've been going round in circles on this one:
- Rang the DVLA - they say I have a TT99 offence code on my license and zero points. They have no historically records of my previous offences, apparently and bizarelly they delete this off the system.
- Rang several insurance companies - they want the last 5 years endorsements on my license, in addition to my ban.
- Rang the court that issued the driving ban and they have no records in archive or at their office to indicate what my offences were how much I got charged and how many points I received for each one.
- I didn't keep my own records, but I think they are - a CU80 (mobile phone) at some point in Nov 2011, a CD10 more recently that led to the ban. The last 6 points were for speeding offences - but for the life of me I can't recall when how much i was fined etc.
- The insurance companies won't quote me without this info. I don't want to be dishonest and i dont want to invalidate my policy should a claim arise. I'm not even putting myself down as the main driver as I drive rarely.
My wife has 4 years no claims and we have a small baby hence the need to update the insurance.
Any tips/advice on how to declare - without the policy being invalidated?

When I received my license back from dvla all points were cleared from it and just a tt99 endorsement listed. The cps have convientuently not filed the correct paperwork as my name has been misspelt on the court paperwork and I didn't match what te class had.0

My insurance companies have a list of all my accidents and convictions stretching back 5 years as I've always declared them.
The wifes insurers also have the same list.
Call previous insurers and ask them?0 -
Just get a copy of the driver record from DVLA under the Data Protection Act.
They claim that "they delete this off the system" but I bet that the data is held somewhere. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.
We belong to the Earth0
