NI number on mortgage application
I gave my mortgage advisor my national insurance number. I had my doubts but he works for a FSA backed company and I told myself i was overreacting. However, now I want to know if it's normal for someone to need to give out their NI number for a mortgage application.... Thanks in advance.

Help to buy - previously inherited or not?
Hello My mum died in 2010, intestate. Before the estate was shared out, I signed something at the solicitors saying that my brother could have the house. There were four of us, and it went to my brother. The estate was shared out and I received a cash sum which was the share of her pension, not from the house. I didn't…

Estate Agent not fully informed me, what should I do?
Hi all, My partner and I are currently undergoing our first purchase, and decided to go through the estate agent to setup the mortgage and make sure everything was good, which I now regret. Additional borrowing for home improvements
Hi I have previously posted about getting a loan for home improvements and recently had a conversation about this at work. Someone told me today that you can borrow and add this to your mortgage if the value of your property is going to be worth more after the renovations have been done. My immediate concern is that we…

Mortgage and property registration
Quick question: A couple I know are divorcing. One wants their name taken off mortgage but not 'sell' their half immediately so that the other can keep the home for a while, so no change to title deeds. I would expect the lender to say no but, being no expert, thought I'd ask on here if it is possible to alter a mortgage…

I am trying to budget for how much deposit I would need, but I am…
