Temporary part-time salary
Hoping for some advice please. I'm coming to the end of my fixed rate (31st December). I'm with Halifax and there's a reasonable retention product I can take. However I've seen a more competitive rate with Yorkshire. The issue is that I am currently on a voluntary reduced salary from 1st November until 31st March.…

Mortgage past 65
Hi there, I wonder if anyone could offer some advice. I’ve always assumed (incorrectly) that you can only get mortgages up until you are 65 – a friend recently told me that he has taken out a mortgage for 40 years, ending when he is 75. Does anybody know if you need to have your pensions set with a retirement age of 75 (in…

Mortgage Broker Fee
Hi, First time remortgaging. My mortgage broker has found me a deal which looks good, where he gets £700 remuneration from the lender. On top of this he charges me a fee of £399. So making £1100 in total. Is this normal? It seems like a lot. Is it reasonable for me to negotiate his fee considering the hefty remuneration?
