General overpayments question.
Hi people I'm coming to the end of a 5 year fixed deal with the Halifax at the end of the month. During this time I've been allowed to overpay a maximum of 10% a calender year and I have already done that for this calender year. Next month when it automatically changes to what I believe will be the standard variable rate…

5% deposit with default?
Does anyone know of any lenders that will entertain the following adverse credit: I have a CCJ - Registered in Jan 2014, satisfied same year. My partner has a default - Registered June 2015, satisfied the following year. The problem we are facing is that to do 5% we have been told by most lenders that my partner's default…

Evidence of paying off a credit card to support mortgage application
As part of our mortgage application we have been asked to provide evidence as to how we plan to clear our £5000 credit card debt before they will approve the mortgage. Let me make it clear that we have not been asked to actually clear them to zero, just how we plan to do it. Has anyone else been in this position?

Remortgaging Questions

Hi there, I am looking to purchase a property after splitting up with my ex. Simultaneous mortgage applications
Hi, We've applied to Nationwide for a mortgage, however the application keeps having to be sent back to the underwriters due to numerous mistakes, and each time this incurs a 2-3 day delay. We're concerned that we may end up being rejected at the end of all this, but will have waited over a month to find this out. Is there…

Is it worth cycling a two year fix at 80% LTV

I will no doubt dropt LTV every two years at 5% (currently 80%) thus get a better rate then fix maybe for long term. I don't want to fix for five years at 80% LTV then miss out on say 65-70% LTV…

I know this may be a silly question, and has probably already been answered at some point, so sorry for that. My partner owns the house we live in, but we want to move to a bigger place. Higher rate SDLT if separated but BOTH buying new?
As above, We are separated pending divorce. We have sold the FMH and both renting. If we both now buy, presumably although we both have an "interest" in each others properties due to still being legally married, we are not listed on the deeds and therefore the one who buys 2nd is not liable to higher rate SDLT?
