Mortgage over payment.

Hi,

My mortgage is with the Halifax. If I made a regular over payment from a different bank account that my mortgage is paid from, would it be a standing order or a direct debit?

Thank

    Hi Dan
If you are sending the payment to Halifax it will be a standing order.

    three ways doing this .
1 contact Halifax and increase your DD payment
2 set up a standing order to pay an additional amount
3 make an additional payment online as and when you want .

I would do a separate standing order.

i make overpayments. to keep things simple i called my bank told them what i was going to do. They put a note on my file.
Every time i make an overpayment it comes from the same bank as my regular payment its easy for me to track and manage/ view on annual statements.

If you have other bank accounts why not transfer the money into account which funds your mortgage
