As a first time buyer can I get a mortgage to buy a share of my parents house? I want to do this to get onto the ladder and also free up a lump sum for my parents to buy a smaller property for them to live in. I will then be living in their current house. Thanks

Was just about to remortgage our own home in order to clear a BTL mortgage on our investment property, as I thought the tax relief on BTLs was being removed totally. Affordability Checks
Does anyone know, or could give anecdotal evidence, as to which mortgage providers check 3 or 6 months of bank statements before giving a decision? The reason we ask is that we expected to be applying for a mortgage in 9 months or more (as we saved the deposit). Things have changed, and we may now be looking in 3 months.…

Can Mortgage Lenders find out about additional savings/investments
Hi, When moving home do we have to declare all bank accounts and investments to our lenders and the solicitor? Will the bank accounts/investments show up on credit checks and searches they run. I've kept these funds separate from our main current account as they are earnings from matched betting and I'd rather not have to…

Mortgage application
Hi guys, We have a joint account that all my wages are paid into and then have an "Allowance" each month sent to a separate account of £300. When supplying bank statements, would they want to see statements for both accounts or would the joint account suffice? All seems such a struggle to gain the right information.

Joint mortgage, splitting up, unmarried
This kind of straddles mortgages and house forums but I'll try my luck here first. I am splitting up. We have a joint mortgage. We both contributed towards the deposit. We are not married. Final payment options
Our mortgage is £27,019 and we're on svr so no early repayment fees. I've been left 25k in a will so is there any reason not to use 2k of savings and get rid of my mortgage ?
