Family buy to let...?
I'm a UK citizen living in New Zealand, with a property in the UK which I rent to my sister. I would love to re-mortgage in order to free up cash for renovations to the property but it seems to be an impossibility. I find it hard to believe that I'm the only person in this situation, but all the lenders I can find will…

Shared Ownership: Do I Need a Mortgage if I Can Buy the Share Outright?
I'm a little confused about how shared ownership works. So I have a fair amount of savings - enough to afford the 25% share outright. Would I need a mortgage if I can buy the share outright? Also, how is the rent calculated? And how do you pay for a bigger share? Do you need a mortgage to be able to do that? Thanks

Buying into a mortgaged property
Hello, Can I buy into my boyfriend's mortgaged house with my own mortgage? He owes less than half the property value. I'm thinking I could take my own mortgage on the property to pay him half the value. But the rates I'm seeing online for "second mortgages" are punitive. Is it a second mortgage I would need or is that only…

Ex off the mortgage
My ex and I divorced about 6/7 years ago and when we got divorced he said he would remove his name off the mortgage, this never happened. BTL mortgage to pay off residential mortgage. Is this allowed?
My parents took a residential mortgage on their house to raise capital for an investment. My Dad will soon be 75 and the mortgage needs to be repaid; the current lenders will not lend over age 75. Paying off the mortgage isn't a problem, but if possible we'd like hang on to the money and pay off the residential mortgage by…

Mortgage for new build - change of address
Hi all, We are in the very early stages of buying a new build property off plan. We currently live in a shared ownership flat and the rules of the new build are that we must be sold STC with an AIP in place before we can reserve our chosen plot. This is fine, the broker thinks we'll get the AIP (and indeed the mortgage!)…
