Re-fixing mortgage with plans to move?
Hi all, Hoping to get some advice on my situation. I own a property and a couple of months ago my fixed rate ended and I'm on the SVR. Fixed term contract without history of contracts, chances of getting a mortgage?
I am currently on a permanent contract but I have just seen a dream job I may apply for on a fixed term contract of either 1 year or 3 years. Me and my partner want to buy a house within the next year (we are first time buyers) so I am unsure about applying for these jobs if it means we wouldn't stand a good chance of…

Remorgage early? Best way to pay for extension?
Hello We are looking to build an extension, costing around £35,000. We only bought the house last year with a 90% 3 year fix mortgage at 4.49%. The house now has around £80k in equity due to home improvements/ house values going up (plus the 10% deposit we put in). I calculate it would cost around £5k to pay off ERC (2%)…

Help To Buy Questions
Hello, I have seen a new build property that we would really like to purchase, valued at £286,950. We are undecided to purchase the house using the HTB equity loan, or to follow the traditional method. Not using the HTB scheme would mean we would not have much money left over as we would need to increase our deposit…

Can you borrow more on an interest only mortgage?
Hi, Probably a stupid question but is the max mortgage amount you can borrow on an interest only mortgage the same as a repayment? You can't borrow more if its interest only? I'm pretty sure the max allowed would always based on the repayment model but thought I would ask anyway. Thanks

Remortgage and 3% stamp duty sur charge?
For some reason my married friend managed to get a mortgage in his name only. But are about to remortgage. My understanding is that most banks won't allow remortgage if the other partner/spouse is not on mortgage, or is it not on the title deed? apologies, this has nothing to do with the 3% stamp duty sur-charge.....
