What are the best BTL mortgages at the moment?
As it says in the title. Looking to buy a property valued at £120000 and I'm wondering what the current deposit required might be, fees and whether to go for fixed rate etc. Thanks.

Early Repayment Charge
My fixed rate mortgage with The Coventry comes to an end on 01/01/2014. If I were to transfer lenders after that date will I still be stung for the Early Repayment Charge - or does that usually only apply if you transfer your mortgage before then end of the fixed term?

Confused about "Help to Buy" scheme
I am a bit confused about the "Help to Buy 1" scheme (loan from government). I have a couple of questions... 1) If we used this scheme, with 5% coming from us and 20% from the government, what happens if we want to move in 5 years time? Are we basically in negative equity for the 20%? So we're stuck in that house until we…

Failing to get a Mortgage due to Not being Registered on Voting List
Hi Everyone, I'm going through a mortgage broker to deal with the mortgage application. My credit score is fair, I have no default but the only problem is that I'm not on the electoral register. Springboard / helping hand mortgages
This question sounds stupid already as I write it, so please forgive me, but does the helper have to be a different person to the homebuyer? I came across the 'helping hand' type of mortgages the other day (where the helper's savings are ringfenced as a guarantee, but potentially returned in full after X amount of years -…

Does using a help to buy equity loan provide better mortgage deals?
From what I understand of mortgages the more contributed by the borrower the lower the cost of the mortgage in the form of better interest rates. For example a person borrowing £90,000 on a £100,000 property purchase will have a higher interest rate than someone borrowing £50,000 on a £100,000 purchase. If that is correct:…
