mortgage minefield

I'm currently searching out a mortgage. I have had some advise from brokers etc and done a bit of research on line and to be fair there doesn't seem to be a lot in it as far as price of repayments.

We thought we'd found the best possible deal (cheapest) but were then advised that the mortgage company were not recommended as they were very slow (the process taking upto 8 weeks just to obtain mortgage) and not good on customer service.....

How can i find out which companies are reliable and efficient?

    Typically through a broker.

If you look online, you will just come across complaints as people feel the need to vent frustration but not happiness.

There are lenders that i would never use in a million years, that is because the experience i have with them on a few occasions means i would rather turn the business away than deal with those lenders.

You can only get that from a broker really.

That knowledge is an important part of an adviser's service, along with lender's current (or should that be everchanging) terms and conditions and the reason why they are able to charge a fee for their services.

That's the nature of the beast. Best ranking products will receive the most attention.
