fairly large deposit, low income and credit rating not great...

I have a 55 k deposit, looking to buy a house for around 105k. I'm 21 as is my partner, and our annual income is 22k including tax credits. Our credit ratings aren't amazing, nothing major just the fact we're 21 and not on the electoral roll (although just sorted that). I'm wondering if it is at all possible to get a mortgage with all these factors. I know i'll have to speak to a broker, but in my situation i'm wondering what would be best. I was looking at London and country brokers, would they be able to advise me about my current situation? And would I get an offer in principal before I find a house, or go to a broker? Or should I speak to a broker face to face? thanks.

Have just read your previous posts on this and the figures differ greatly.

In June you had £70K deposit, but only 5 months later the deposit is only £55K. Is this the amount YOU have? or total with siblings?

I would suggest you see a Broker.

  • hi the 70k was with siblings, and the money is from my grandparents. However due to them deciding buying a house with my siblings not being a good idea, the 55k is just my share as they've given us all a bit more money.
