90% LTV and no Early Repayment Charge
I've done some searching for a 90% mortgage with no ERC/penalty-free overpayments, and the only lenders that show up are First Direct and HSBC (essentially the same company). Does this sound right? Do most 90% mortgages have an ERC?

No questions finance
I have a number of properties, with no loans, and would like to take the opportunity of the downturn to buy a few more. Are there any companies out there (or individuals) who'll lend at a rate of 6% or below on either an interest only (preferably) or interest and repayment basis - over 10 years. I don't want all kinds of…

Paying twice?
I am currently arranging a mortgage to buy out my sister's half of the property we inherited when our mother died. My broker's offer includes conveyancing fees of £950. At the same time I have received an e-mail from my solicitor quoting a fee of the same amount for "remortgaging and equity transfer". My question is:…

2yr vs 4yr fixed rate mortgage
Originally I was thinking of getting a 2yr fixed mortgage but speaking with a mortgage adviser at an estate agents they said if I plan on staying in property for 5yrs (however my broker suggested 2yrs!) odd then better to go with long term as more safe so kind of thinking of the 4yr though slightly higher rate making my…

I will keep this fairly short and sweet, as there are a few key facts rather than heresay. Just want peoples experiences, or thoughts on how best to proceed. Have had an Alliance & Leicester mortgage for 4 years, was on a fix, moved onto the 4.99% SVR. Enquired in October 2012 as to available switching deals. did not want…

10 or 15% deposit?
We've gotten to the point of making an offer. We were hoping to get the house for less than the asking price but it looks like we are going to have to stretch to 140,000. I was really hoping for a 15% deposit, but our savings (currently 23700) would leave us with only 3000 for fees and everything. (assuming 138k offer is…

Hi all, Me and my wife are having our first chats with mortgage advisors this afternoon. I was hoping that someone might be able to help. fixed deal ending, valuation question
My fixed 2-yr rate will end May 2014 and I started to do a bit of a research to figure out what my options were - staying with the same lender vs. remortgaging. I'm trying to determine what the value of my property is now (just for the sake of calculating various options) and I don't know what to input. Original purchase…
