House valuation
Hope i'm posting this in the right place, apologies if i'm not. She told us as a rough guide they use the RPI index and our house value has therefore dropped. Before I consider…

Switching from Nationwide to The Mortgage Works
What do you think of this? When I decided to look into re-mortgaging my current property to benefit from lower interest rates, I was advised by Nationwide that, as long as I keep my mortgage with Nationwide, I could switch to a better rate and the early repayment charge on my current mortgage deal would be waived (approx…

Morgage Advisors/Brokers - how bad are they ?
I have recently come indirectly into contact with one. They are apparently good at bird-dogging a mortgage application through and getting it accepted on reasonably favourable terms. But in terms of the wider view, understanding some of the legal issues and complexities, ensuring consistency in communications, and being…

Keep money in savings, or overpay mortgage? BUT house move on the horizon.
As things stand: I have an £84,000 mortgage with Santander. I'm 5 months into a 4 year fix @ 4.49%. I have £17,000 in savings with Lloyds TSB, but their interest rate is due to fall on the 27th June. So I'm thinking about moving the money to Santander's eSaver account which receives 3.0% gross and instant, penalty-free…
