What Interest Rate Should we Plan for?
Hi, We've first time buyers. I've heard so many horror stories about people buying during low interest rates and then being re-possessed when they rise. Can we trust a mortgage broker to give us good advice on what interest rate to plan for? How much interest rate should we plan for? Thanks!

Neg Equity/Northern Rock
Hi I took out a 125% together mortgage in 2006... At the time this was my only way of getting a mortgage, so was my only option. I now as many others have fallen foul of the negative equity market... My total borrowed is 132k, I have been paying repayment on 5.89% for almost 4 years and admittedly had to take a few payment…

Guarantor against £60,000. Is it possible??
Me & my partner would like to purchase a property for £280,000. However we can only borrow 4.8 times our income with The Abbey which would allow us to borrow only £220,000. I have heard that it might be possible to get the extra £60,000 onto our mortgage if my Dad is able to act as guarantor for the £60,000 against his…

Best 5 year fixed rate mortgage?
So the best 5 year mortgage i have seen is with co-op who are doing a 4.29% deal with a 999 fee. There is a 4 year deal at abbey which is 4.99 but with no fee and 250 cashback. So depending on the loan size, mine is only 30k, this actually works out better. Has anybody seen anything better than the 5 years at 4.29?…
