Should we stay or should we go go...!
We offered on a house recently and lost out to a guy in rented. We weren't intending to move but in our location it was a one-off opportunity to buy our final-rung-up-on-the-ladder so we put ours up for sale. We have an offer on our house (pretty fair, c.5% below ask). Should we go into rented, sell what's a fine family…

Interest only self cert ends soon what to do?
Hi everyone, I have a self-cert fixed rate with BM @ 5.39% ends June 1st. I called the broker I went through initially, and they said despite interest rates falling mortgage rates aren't - and I was quoted 6.1% as their best deal (for same type of mortgage I have now - which is my only option). I found a fixed rate of 5.95…

The Observer Presumably this is going to land mainly on brokers rather than lenders. Looks like more closures ahead then.

london & country - beware!!
What a shower!! Tried for 4 WEEKS to get a mortgage through them - inept, inefficient and incompetent. Apart from letting off steam I would not recommend them ( as Martin has done). I eventually used a local broker and obtained a better deal in 2 HOURS.

Mortgage Over 35 Years.
In 2006 me and my partner took a 10 year fixed rate 4.99% mortgage for over 35 years. At the time it sounded like a really good deal we were getting, but now we are starting to think after the 10 years we are going to still have a mortgage for 25 years. The mortgage is 740 a month and we will find it difficult to increase…

He has no debts, i have £3.5k left and once this is paid off we want to buy but to get a £10k deposit will take at least 2 years, happy to save enough for fee etcs but with the "credit crunch" are lenders still doing 100% mortgages if we wanted to go that…

Quick question on mis-sold endowment.
First-time poster - please make allowances. Before I knew her, my wife took a mortgage linked endowment with Black Horse in 1994. She settled the mortgage in full in 1996 when she sold the house, but still has the policy. Would this mean that she would be wasting her time with a claim for mis-selling as her mortgage was…
