One Account Mortgage advise please

I am thinking of getting a one account re-mortgage.. is it better to go direct to One Account or through a financial adviser? Eg, what are the costs involved with both options? thanks in advance for all your expert help and advice! :D

Via a broker will ensure you get advice as to whether that particular product/company is the right one for you as well them chasing the lender/solicitors for you, dealing with the paperwork, etc.

Cost info on the One account is on their website

    http://www.oneaccount.com/onev3/rates/toa-rates.shtml

Broker cost will either be nothing if they're fee free, or, if they charge a fee, pretty much anything they choose.

thank you for your answer... I have been on the site you mentioned previously and done all the research, & have had paperwork from another mortgage adviser, they state that they are fee free but there is a set up fee of £600, I already know I want the One Account and it is the right one for me, can you tell me what the fee covers?? please!

I opened a One Account direct with them last year and don't recall a setup fee anywhere near this high - is this being charged by the Broker? Unless things have changed in this time I'd give One Account a call and discuss....

If you have already decided the One Account is for you then you may as well go straight to them

i've just opened a oneaccount for a remortgage and was charged £200 for house valuation which was paid up front before the valuation took place. and then £145 for solicitors fees which was debited from the oneaccount once opened. and that was it! go direct rather than thru a broker, their customer service is good too when you phone them.

advisors don't tend to like the one account as they won't get their bi-annual repeat custom :D

Advisors don't tend to like the one account because they do not usually offer the best value solution for their clients.
