Wanna great mortgage deal from my existing lender
fixed for a year. I am currently on the standard variable rate and not locked in. Do I call the mortgage customer retention department and find what they have to offer, wait for a day or to and then try and find something better and then ask them to match it? Any top negotiating tips would be appreciated.

Can I say this: I was told that because this is a part managed & part profit based endowment that this will not fall into shortfalls like other endowments. Or what is the best way to put it. Will this be taken seriously?

Using Offset to Buy Car
We currently have an offset mortgage which is fully offset. At the moment, for each monthly payment we make, the same amount becomes available in the offset. Unfortuately, we're not currently in a position to be able to contribute to the offset at the sort of rate we've done in the past. Both cars' leases are about to come…

FOS Will Not uphold our Complaint!!
Hi Guys. I can honestly say that I am really choked. We received a letter from the FOS yesterday basically saying that due to lack of evidence, they are siding with the "firm". I am shocked at how much of the FOS's findings are based on assumption due to the lack of evidence. Why is it that "we" as the consumer have to…

Further advance
Hi all I'm looking to borrow £15,000 for as little as possible per month. A further advance on the mortgage seems the obvious route. I'm currently 2 years into a 5 year fixed deal with Northern Rock who have offered me a secured loan on a variable rate (6.99% at the mo) over the remaining length of the mortgage (23 years).…

Inland Revenue
At Christmas I noticed that my salary had been reduced by £300 and when I checked with my HR I was informed that the Revenue had requested the money because my Tax Code was incorrect. I rang the Revenue and was told that the code was 662 and should have been the Basic Rate at 503. They sent me a form to complete and…
