Paying mortgage off early
I am inheriting some money from my father's estate and am planning to pay off my mortgage which stands at £22,500. I've heard, however, that there may be a charge for this. Is it worth leaving a small amount outstanding on the mortgage to avoid this charge?

Independent mortgage advice in Worcester
I am currently looking to get a mortgage in Worcester, and I wondered if anyone out there had any recommendations for independent mortgage advise in the area? I would be particularly interested in recommendations actually in Worcester, as I would prefer to deal with someone who actually knows the area. Cheers, Adam.

Woolwich repayment fee
Hi, We have just remortgaged - paid off our Woolwich loan. Back in Nov Martin advised anyone planning to repay woolwich mortgages to get in touch with them before end Nov to let them know - they would then freeze the redemption fee at the then current rate of £190.00 - this I did so I was amazed to find they had charged…

Is a Broker really necessary?
I realise that a Broker is not absolutley necessary, but I'm a bit puzzled why anyone would use one? As once you've trawled through all the mortgage options on the Broker websites (such as those Martin Lewis recommends for free) and select one. What's to stop a person going direct to the Building society to sign up, thus…

Any Thoughts?
This is NOT an endowment policy, but.....! I am wondering about surrender values / "TEP", and so on. I don't even know whether there is a market out there for such a policy. I have been paying into an old Pioneer Mutual "escalator plan" for almost 25 years now. The monthly premiums are £18. It is an open-ended policy which…
