This might seem like a silly question but if I have the opportunity of paying off my mortgage can anyone think of a good reason for not doing so! I do intend to move in 6-9 months time and will be taking out a higher remortgage at that time anyway. Any thoughts?

My endowment mortgage pays out next month from Standard Life, thankfully not with a shortfall. I am told i will no longer be a member and so will not qualify for expected windfall which seems a bit mean after having paid premiums on time for 25 years. Does anyone know of a way around this. Bill
