I checked my balance on Thursday night and my available balance was minus the valuation fee. However I checked tonight and it's back to normal. I called my bank who said that it can happen if the company cancels the transaction but couldnt tell me anymore.
Now I'm really panicing. I was told on Thursday morning that it was approved subject to valuation, Thursday night notice valuation fee reserved against available balance and thinking ... just a matter of time... now this and I can't speak to them till 9am tomorrow.
I know I'll probably have to wait till tomorrow a whole 11hrs
any ideas?

If this was a Switch transaction it's not uncommon (with my bank anyway) for the transaction to appear on your online banking system - and then disappear again for up to 3 days.
The Co-op are terrible for it - especially with small transactions.
Sometimes, my Switch transactions even appear twice although one is ignored for your balance.0 -
It was Meastro. Very strange, Natwest claim nothing in pending queue etc.. and can't see transaction but it was definitely the exact valuation fee off my available balance and now it's been reset it appears. I hope it is just some silly glitch. Cheers0

Yes, sorry I'd had a Switch card for so many years I just can't get used to calling it a Maestro card.
This kind of thing must have been happening for years, but it's only with the advent of "online banking" that we, the customer, come across these "glitches".
One final tip, if you check again tonight after midnight, or first thing in the morning, you'll probably find the transaction has re-appeared again.0
