Upgrading Santander ISA
Santander have brought out a new cash ISA at 1.7% for 123 customers, of which I am one. I have already opened their regular cash ISA (paying 1.6%) in this financial year, and paid £4k into it. Am I eligible to upgrade to the (slightly) higher rate and continue to pay more into it? Cheers, Ben

Halifax fixed ISA
Hi. I have a three year fixed rate ISA that's just finished it's second year. When I log into my online account it says i can invest £5940. Is this correct? I'm under the impression i wasn't able to invest any money for the three years. Cheers

Closing a Santander ISA
I have a Santander ISA Saver that has gone down to a pitiful rate, so I want to close it and withdraw the cash. The website seems to suggest I need to visit a branch or write a letter, which seems silly as I've always operated the account online. Is anyone able to confirm whether or not Santander allow you to close…

Top rates vs convenience and stability
I have an ISA with Harpenden BS at 2.25%, which is a pretty reasonable rate at the moment. I can add new money to it, but can't transfer in, which is fine as everything is currently in the one pot (~£20k). I'm trying to decide whether to keep going with this one for 2014-15, or open a new one (2.75%) somewhere else, but…

Help needed for S&S ISA!
Hi I opened a S&S ISA with Legal & General just over 2 years ago - the fund selected was UK Alpha Trust R. I pay in each month via Direct Debit but don't really think anything of it (out of sight, out of mind mentality) but I logged on yesterday for the 1st time in a while and was surprised that it seems to be doing ok. It…

ISA's - Help!
I feel a bit of a dope to have to ask this question: having been running a cash ISA for a few years and doing the switching thing, can I leave that one where it is and open a brand new one somewhere else? In effect, then I would have two cash ISA'S running. Is this allowed, or do you need to put all your ISA savings in one…

ISAs, withdrawals and NISAs
Evening folks. I have the maximum allowed in my ISA. What happens if I withdraw £2k now. I know I can't put this back into this year's allowance, but can I do so in July when NISAs come into effect? Thanks all

ISA Rollover query ?!? Help !
Hi, and help ! I thought I was ISA savvy, but it appears not. Question: If you have an existing ISA, can you top it up the following tax year ? I thought you could ?!? I have a Tesco Instant access ISA from 2013/2014 with the maximum in it, and, so waited until the start of the next year, this year 2014/2015, well I waited…

hsbc isa confusion
My elderly father has a standard HSBC current account and, in February, we opened his first ISA ( an online e isa). It was an easy process, so I hoped to repeat it for the 2014/15 year but, typically, this account is no longer available and the only one appears to be their ' Loyalty Cash Isa'. n.b We are looking for…

Investments & Platforms
I use a discount broker for managing ISAs and I had to transfer my holdings to a platform. I've been receiving a share of the renewal commission which has made this arrangement worthwhile despite the fact that I no longer receive the Fund Manager info. If I understand the changes correctly there will be no renewal…

£50 a month Stock n' Shares ISA
Hi everyone, I become a Dad later this month and so I am thinking about the baby's future. I am planning on saving £50 a month for say 10 or 12 years in stocks and shares. This is because it is a long term plan and whilst we can not guarantee returns, the train of thought is that long term it should be okay. After that 10…

Major ISA transfer to 123 ISA
I have read the thread about the transfer of the maturing Santander Major ISA, I and probably many thousands of others gave instructions to transfer my Major ISA to my 123 ISA on the 2 May 2014 (I gave notice on the 6 April 2014). The transfer has not gone through and neither has my wife's has anybody had theirs…

Can anyone expain the rates for the historic account "ISA Saver (issue 1). http://www.thecheshire.co.uk/uploadedFiles/Resources/Documents/Savings-rate-history.pdf For each rate period from 14/12/12 to 1/5/14 the 'Tax free' rate for £1000+ is shown as 2.5%. However the AER varies greatly for each period, from 1% to 2.5%.…

Same day ISA transfer - wow
I doff my hat to Santander and Barclays. As my Santander Major ISA matured today, I requested it to be transfered to a Barclays ISA. I was expecting this to take a couple of weeks, but...... Checked Santander early this morning to see how much interest had been paid. (4.1% :D ) Checked again at lunchtime only to find my…

Withdrawing from ISA in a tax year
Hi all, I just closed my ISA account by withdrawing all the money, because it was earning me less interest than my Santander 123 account, even though the bank account is not tax free. Anyway, there was roughly £9000 in there - I'm wondering, does this count towards this year's "withdrawals" or does it not factor in if I've…

Does 'upgrading' an ISA count as a new ISA
I thought I understood ISA's but have confused myself. I am thinking of transferring my Santander ISA that matures tomorrow to the Santander 123 ISA paying 2.3%. Does this count as a new ISA or can I open another with this years ISA allowance. TIA

ISA Transfer, fund gone.
So It looks like that during my transfer of my stocks and shares ISA from Hargreaves Lansdown to Interactive Investor, one of my funds has been rejected at II and returned to HL. However HL has closed the ISA and told me everything has been completed. So I have no idea what it going to happen to my fund now, or even how…
