ISA Rule Clarification Request
Hi, I'd be grateful if someone could clear up the rules regarding ISAs as the information i've read from various sources is vague and ambiguous and i'm struggling to formulate a definitive answer. Here's my situation: I transferred my Barclays ISA to a Santander Direct ISA last October and the interest on that was paid on…

Reactivate Lloyds TSB ISA?
Just been in my internet banking and noticed that my ISA has the following message "Please re-activate your Fixed Rate Cash ISA account to pay money into it again. You have not paid into your Fixed Rate Cash ISA in a full tax year, please re-activate your Fixed Rate Cash ISA account to pay money into it again." Now I…

Excuse my ignorance, but...
If we adhere to the rule..."Never, ever, ever, ever withdraw money from a cash ISA! You'll immediately lose all the tax benefits." ...how do we ever get at any of our savings?

ISA transfer in middle of tax year
Hi, I've read various threads but i'm still confused over a couple of points. I have about 6k in a cash ISA that's now earning ~zero interest so i want to transfer to a new one. Trouble is i've already added 100 quid in this (2011/12) tax year. So here are my questions... 1. If i open a new ISA which accepts transfers but…

How to sell an ISA
i have an ex-PEP ISA, with the Prudential. It is 15 years old and worth just over £13K. I wish to cash this in as I would prefer to invest it in the "new" National Savings vehicle linked to the RPI. Being a complete newbie on this I would be grateful if someone could tell me the quickest and/or cheapest way to do this. Two…

Wine from Water? - Fidelity ISA - was Virgin I think and I got a free case of wine?
I have just received a statement of an old ISA I opened years ago with Virgin I think. The deal was something like invest a minimum of £80 by such and such a date and get a free case of wine. Well, I did so and after the wine arrived and we drank it I more or less forgot it. Well, I have just received a statement from…

Santander ISA HELP NEEDED
I have just closed a Flexible ISA (Issue 2) with Santander, I needed the money to put towards a house. I put in my full allowance last year of £5100.00. The current rate is 3.2% When I closed it I had only earnt £160.00 interest, is this right????? Doesn't sound a lot of interest to have been made in a year.

Current year ISA with poor rate
My wife has been saving into a cash ISA for the past year. By the end of the tax year she had saved about £1,100. The provider automatically rolled over the ISA into the new (2011-2012) tax year, and new payements have been added to it. The big problem is that this ISA pays a terrible rate of interest (about 0.5%). What…

Halifax direct reward 4 ISA - Remaining balance
Have just checked and my transfer of 2010/11 ISA from Santander to the Halifax account appears to have gone through surprisingly smoothly. The only odd thing is that it is showing I only have another £73 odd to invest but this should be the full £5340 2011/12 alllowance. Anyone else had this problem?

Skipton vs RBS - who is taking so long!
I recently deposited by debit card a fair amount in a Skipton BS ISA by debit card. This was six days ago and RBS still show this as being in my current account but it also shows with Skipton making me seem twice as rich (or not so rich!) as I really am. It's been a while since I've actively used an ISA so this may just be…

ISA limits
I appreciate that investments within a stocks and shares wrapped ISA can be switched around at will, and that the annual limit is only used when the money is initially paid in. But what is the position with realised capital gains or retained dividends? Does further investment of the proceeds count against the annual limit?

Confused!
I wish to open at the beginning of June (when I am due to receive some funds) a cash ISA account to invest this year's maximum cash allowance on the best available terms with provider "Y", who guarantees an attractive rate of interest for 12 months. The proposed account with provider "Y" does not accept funds from previous…

Halifax ISA - Direct Reward Scam?
I've seen the other Halifax thread, obviously the admin got really messy there, but I feel my example is more sinister and wanted to get some opinions. 4/5 April - I open a Direct Reward ISA online, via the website. Everything goes smoothly, and about 1 to 2 weeks later I get confirmation of my sort code and account…

Fund availability on HSBC Invest Direct ISA
A quick question for any HSBC Invest Direct user out there.. Can I buy non-HSBC funds with this product? I understand I can trade in shares and ETF's, but the guidance doesn't say much about the funds. I've used III for previous years, and they have an excellent range of funds. I get the impression that HSBC will only sell…
