ISA transfers - sorry if this is a daft question.
Hello I'm considering the Alliance & Leicester Flexible ISA. It doesn't allow transfers in but it does allow you to make further deposits over the course of the year. For this, I'm thinking of using money I was going to put into my Halifax ISA at the start of the next tax year. After one year, it reverts to a variable tax…

Stay away from Santander because of bad service, despite the rate?
I'm in a bit of a MSE dilema here: my head is telling me to go for the Santander Flexible ISA with its excellent 3.5%, but my heart is telling me to sacrifice the highest rate for the sake of decent customer service. I really dislike Santander based on past experiences and hate their brand, but feel silly for shunning such…

What would you do?
Considering my options and would like to know people's thoughts on this. I've got most of my existing ISA money in Newcastle Building Society with a fixed rate for 5 years, that is staying where it is. This year's allowance is in Saffron Building Society in the 7% regular saver ISA which matures next week. Considering what…

ISA Transfer Scam?
I opened a new ISA with Nationwide by transfer from my RBS ISA. My RBS ISA was closed 11.03.10 "inter bank transfer". I received a letter from Nationwide on 20.03.10 stating that they could not open my new ISA until they get the money from RBS. I had a similar delay when I did a transfer from NS&I to Nationwide. I do not…

New Tax Year, New ISA - when to open account?
As a general rule, are the Best Buys available just before the new tax year begins, as the providers try to mop up all the stragglers, or is it best to wait until after 5 April in the hope that the providers will launch an all-out war to bag the business? If the former, then will it be possible to open a new account before…

Dear MSE, Nationwide is not a bank
In this article http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/best-cash-isa#instant It says "Both banks offer decent current accounts". However you only mention one bank: First Direct. The other part of this section talks about Nationwide, which is a building society (unless you know something I don't!) Perhaps the article…

Confused
I've noticed that interest on the Santander ISA is paid annually. I can't find when Barclays pay their interest but I know that last year the Barclay's Golden ISA paid interest monthly which allowed the amount to compound. If I'm correct in assuming the Golden ISA is monthly and the Santander is annually, does the…
