ISA Transfer Scam?

I opened a new ISA with Nationwide by transfer from my RBS ISA. My RBS ISA was closed 11.03.10 "inter bank transfer". I received a letter from Nationwide on 20.03.10 stating that they could not open my new ISA until they get the money from RBS.

I had a similar delay when I did a transfer from NS&I to Nationwide.

I do not understand why it should take any longer to transfer money from an ISA than any other bank account?

Has anyone else suffered similar delays?

Not a scam as such. Transfers can take a while. Last Isa transfer I did took just under a month. This year I wanted to transfer again but working out if I lost over a months interest again I wouldn't be a lot better off.
Some people on here have had up to 6 weeks I have read.
