Reporting insurance fraud?
Is it worth reporting insurance fraud online? I know of someone who has insured their modified car as a standard car, (larger engine installed, lowered, bigger wheels, fully chaved up boy racer car). They have also not declared their six points for driving without insurance to the new insurance company.

Car insurance to include business cover
I renewed my car insurance a couple of weeks ago. My cover included social, domestic, pleasure and commuting. I've just started a new job and my employer has told me I need to have business insurance. I went online to add this and it gave me the options of adding 'personal business use' and on top of that, if I wanted to,…

Is this reasonable?
I've just received my renewal notice for combined building and contents insurance. The building element has increased by 17.3%. When I pressed for an explanation, all I was offered was "there have been a lot of claims" and "maybe it's your area". I live in a modest house, on a hill, in a small hamlet in the South East and…

Have you haggled your way out of insurance admin fees?
Insurers cheekily charge up to £30 a time for tiny tweaks to policies such as a name or address, that take seconds to alter. But we've heard of many wriggling out of these, so we want to tap MoneySavers' collective knowledge on what lines you used if successful, which insurers played ball and how much you got 'em to waive…

Accidentally taken out two policies - what to do?
I have made a very stupid mistake... I knew that our household insurance had lapsed in January this year, but I couldn't find any current policy documents, so I thought I had forgotten to renew. I therefore took out a second policy in August this year, unaware that our previous policy had just auto renewed, and we don't…

Building insurance & subsidence
Does anyone know which insurance companies provide building insurance cover where the property has previously had subsidence? We had a subsidence claim over 20 years ago and although we have cover, I want to shop around to see if I can get a better quote but, normally, as soon as I mention the subsidence they don't want to…

Gladiator Insurance Experience
Just wanted to vent my frustration with this ridiculous company. I ended up with car insurance from Gladiator after using a comparison site last year. Now I am experiencing the knock on effect of using a cheap car insurance firm. Having never received a renewal i decided to go with another company touting for my business.…

Car insurance and the council
Hi everyone, First time posting here, but everyone seems to be quite clued up, so I thought I'd seek some advice. Last weekend, I had a car accident at a roundabout which has put the car in write-off condition (note: I haven't actually done anything with the car yet) and in the process, I also knocked over a street sign…

Car Insurance - No Claims Discount over 2 years old
Hi, My NCD is over 2 years old and my insurance company has turned it down on the grounds that it could not accept NCDs that were over 2 years. Can anyone indicated any insurance companies that accept NCDs that are up to 3 years old (which would work for me)? I heard there were a few but couldn't get any names so far.…

Drains & pipes cover
I noticed yesterday that my neighbour was using a mini digger to excavate his drive. Turns out we all have the original 60's metal water pipes running into the properties. I just got an online quote from British Gas to cover exterior drains & pipes inside & out. It is £30 per year. Is this cover worth it? I am trying to…

privilege insurance changes to policy
Just received my renewal quote from Privilege home and content insurance. The premium increase is £15, which seems reasonable at first glance. However, when checking the policy, they have now taken out the multi trip year round travel insurance! No letter to point this out, nothing!! Read your policy if you are due to…

Mortgage Payment Protection Cover - how will this affect me?
OK, so I've got a fairly clean bill of health. One of the questions asked is 'have you suffered from stress, insomnia, depression' in the last five years. I answered no, as I honestly believed this to be the case. I've got back the form asking for me to confirm the details, and I suddently remembered something, so I went…
