Worcester Greenstar 24i junior.
2 days ago, the boiler stopped producing hot water while the heating is on. When the heating was off, we could get hot water this morning The engineer came to look at it this morning, but could not find a fault as it was working. He said the water pressure was low (using his meter, tested the outside tap). To us, it hasn't…

Expansion vessell in boiler "freestanding" help!
Hello I have a Ferroli Domina 80N combi boiler with a dodgy expansion vessel which has finally packed in When I had the initial service to mine (and the gas engineers) horror the expansion vessell was held in place by gaffer tape - the guess from the GE was that they'd taken the bracket off and not replaced it for some…

How should I insulate this knee wall?
The Victorian house I live in has an original room in the top with eaves spaces either side. I want to keep that room nice and warm and use the eaves for storage. Apart from insulating the roof space as a "cold roof", how should I best insulate the two knee walls?…

New digital room stat
I have an old dial room stat that works but not brilliantly. The dial seems to be out by 10c so if i put it on 10c it is really 20c. I have tested this by using a digital thermometor and there seems to be a lot of difference in the temp when setting it to switch on/off which varies 3 to 4c. I think this wastes some energy…

what size roof lantern?
Hi, we're building a kitchen extension 5 x 5 m with a flat roof and a lantern as a feature to let in light. We've already spoken to architect and builder but have yet to finalise the size of the lantern. We're thinking 3 x 2 m, but am slightly concerned about heat loss and whether we should make it a bit smaller, but want…

Wood Worktop with Wood Floor?
As the title suggests, we can't decide about our flooring choice in our kitchen. We have decided on a laminate dark bamboo worktop (http://www.diy-kitchens.com/laminate-worktops/duropal/mocha-bamboo/#.Unzen9K8A_U) to go with gloss off-white units. We've just opened up the doorway between the dining room and kitchen, so…

No Hot water or heating
Our boiler packed up yesterday - it is a Baxi 105e. It kept trying to ignite and failing - eventually it did fire up and the heating started to work. Then as soon as I turned on the hot water all the lights went out, except the power on one. No fault lights flashed. This happened a couple of times until we gave up. Husband…

What is the most realistic flame effect electric/fire?stove
Having had a new central heating system put in we now need a nice looking electric fire or stove to replace the old baxi bermuda. As we really only need it for the cosy look of the flames it is that which is important, not heat output. Anyone any suggestions for the most realistic looking flame effect?
