I just threatened to cancel my £36 per month sub in accordance with Martin's "Insider's Tips" and was duly offered three months at half price. I was about to accept this when the bloke then offered me the alternative of a 25% discount over a whole year, saving a whopping £108! Result. :j The way I put it across was that I…

£1404 saving a year!
Following the principles of this site I switched from smoking cigarettes (20 a day - twice that if I went to a pub) to rolling my own with tobacco. Have gone from spending at least £35 a week to just £8. A £1404 saving over the year - and I now even prefer the taste of the ones I'm rolling!

Thanks you guys!
I have been paying over a £1000 a year to Orange, and wanted Sky Plus but have been quoted £249. Today, after much research on this site, (and feeling in quite a bad mood so ready to argue!) I settled myself down with phone in hand and proceeded to call Orange and Sky. Result: Orange: New handset free + 120 minutes anytime…

Cheaper Car Insurance
A big thanks to Martin I followed his 4 tips to getting cheaper car insurance and managed to get £100 less than my renewal quote. I tried Direct Line who I was insured with last year and had sent me a renewal of £340. When they couldn't match my cheapest quote (Post Office with £50 cashback) they told me to try buying…

Wealth creation - anyone interested?
Is anyone interested in joining a thread to explore ways of wealth creation? This is something that I'm new to, so I don't have anything very concrete to post just yet, but I thought it might be interesting to explore ideas for making money, generating extra streams of income etc, however big or small. In the near future,…

Free Kit Kats!
My local supermarket is closing down (Two of them in fact :( ) and they had packs of Kit Kats by the trolley full, down to 59p. I thought they were a bit expensive to say the shop was closing down but stuck two in my basket anyway. Imagine my surprise when I get home to find out they were part of a multi buy offer, and the…

Got £200 off Powergen Bill.
This has been going on for months and it may begin as a rant. (Sorry!) August 31st, we change supplier to Ecotricity. I provide a reading to Powergen for the final bill and one is taken officially. They never send me the final bill. I phone and phone. No return calls. Over the next few months, they do not return a single…
